MQM denies Amir Khan’s sacking from Rabita committee

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Monday night denied news reports suggesting that the party sacked senior leader Amir Khan from its coordination committee.

MQM’s coordination committee issued a statement saying that, there is no truth in the news reports of Amir’s removal from the committee.

Earlier, it was reported that Amir, who is staying abroad these days, has been sacked from the party’s coordination committee after MQM workers expressed reservations on the coordination committee.

The reports had claimed the decision to remove Amir was taken in a meeting of MQM’s office bearers from Landhi, Korangi, Malir and Shah Faisal Colony.

Amir was inducted into the coordination committee in August 2015.

The MQM leader, who was detained among others by Rangers on charges of aiding terrorists, was allowed by an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) to fly to Dubai in response to his petition.

The ATC also directed him to return to country till July 20.
