Eid al-Fitr 2016: High chances of moon sighting in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted Tuesday that chances of Shawwal (Eid al-Fitr 2016) moon sighting will be very high on Tuesday evening.

According to MET department report, moon would be clearly sighted in area of Balochistan Panjgur and other isolated areas. So there are fair chances that Wednesday be the first day of Eid al-Fitr 2016 in Pakistan.

Chairman of the Central Ruet-e Hilal committee, Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman would chair a meeting of zonal committee in Sindh at building of Pakistan Meteorological Department on Tuesday in Karachi.

The committee will convene after Maghrib under chairmanship of Mufti Muni bur Rehman.

Other members of Ruet-e Hilal committee will also attend the provincial and district meetings in their respective areas.

On the other hand, Shawwal moon sighting committees of UAE and Saudi Arabia also announced that there were no witnesses of moon sighting yesterday. Eid al-Fitr in KSA and Gulf countries will also be observed on July 6, along with Pakistan.
