ONTARIO: The meeting of Canada s Hilal Committee to determine the sighting of Hilal for the month of Shawwal (Eid al-Fitr 2016) has been called on Monday 29th Ramadan 1437, on July 4th 2016.
The meeting will be held at Imdadul Islamic Jamat, 26 Lepage Ct. North York Ontario.
The Hilal Committee has asked each Masjid/Organisation to send a maximum of 2 Representative to the meeting before Magrib (sunset).
The moon sighting committee astronomically decides about the first day of Ramadan and the same practice is repeated to predict astronomically the last day of the Ramadan for Eid al-Fitr.
