4th ODI: England thump Sri Lanka, seal series 2-0

LONDON: Jsdon Roy fell five runs short of setting a new batting record but his superb 162 still helped England win the fourth ODI against Sri Lanka and take an unassailable 2-0 series lead on Wednesday.

The Surrey batsman thrived on his home ground as England won by six wickets at The Oval.

But Roy missed out on overtaking another former South African-born England batsman Robin Smith’s individual highest score of 167 not out against Australia at Edgbaston in 1993. – AFP
