Eid al-Fitr 2016 holidays announced in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The Interior Ministry has issued a notice in connection with Eid al-Fitr 2016 holidays in Pakistan. According to the notification, four public holidays from July 5th (Tuesday) to July 8th (Friday) on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. 

However, with two weekly off days of Saturday and Sunday, the government employees will enjoy six holidays.

The Director General of the Pakistan Meteorological Department has already announced that Eid in Pakistan is likely to fall on July 6.

Speaking to Media, DG Met Dr Ghulam Rasool said that the moon is expected to appear on 29th of Ramadan for forty (40) minutes. The moon will be first sighted at Balochistan’s coastal areas including Pasni and Jiwani and in Sindh’s plan areas of Hyderabad.
