Abdul Sattar Edhi is feeling better: Faisal Edhi

KARACHI: Faisal Edhi, elder son of Edhi Foundation Chairman Abdul Sattar Edhi denied all the rumours of Edhi’s bad health and said that his father is feeling better now.

Faisal said that Abdul Sattar Edhi was taken to hospital for routine dialysis.

Last week, Edhi turned down an offer made by former President Asif Zardari for treatment abroad and insisted to be treated in Pakistan.

The philanthropist was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2013 but has been unable to get a transplant due to weak health.

Earlier, today, Pakistan Foreign Office (FO) in a statement, issued an obituary for Edhi, which quoted Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, read, “Today, with the sad demise of legendary philanthropist Maulana Abdul Sattar Edhi, everyone in Pakistan, Pakistanis abroad and millions of others, are in mourning.”

However, the ‘mistake’ was admitted by FO and the condolence letter was withdrawn.
