LONDON: The holy month of Ramadan 2016 is on its way with all the blessings and prosperity in United Kingdom, Muslims here are finding a little bit tough to fast due to extra-long timings.
Some of the cities of UK even fast for 19 and half hours in summer, which increases the chances of dehydration.
However, according to Muslims’ belief, God has kept a reward for them at the end of the holy month in the form of Eid, which is also called Eid al Fitr.
Traditionally, Eid-Al-Fitr is celebrated for three days and is an official holiday in all Muslim majority countries. This year Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries are also likely to observe a three-day public holiday over the same period.
In the UK, the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan will host an Eid food festival in Trafalgar Square on Saturday, July 9.
