LAHORE: The holy month of Ramadan (Ramadan 2016) is most has started today (Tuesday, June 7) in Pakistan, and will continue for thirty days till July 6. Ramadan 2016 started today on June 7, and will last for thirty days till July 6 2016, as chairman Ruet e Hilal Committee, Mufti Munib ur Rehman announced yesterday.
At the end of the month of Ramadan Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, a Islamic festival, on first Shawwal (tenth month of Islamic calendar), which is consider as a gift from God to those who fast.
The day commence with congregation of Eid-prayer and then people say Eid greeting to each other, and children get money (eidi) from their elders.
