PM Nawaz phones Modi ahead of heart surgery

LONDON: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif telephoned his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi ahead of his open heart surgery scheduled for Tuesday in London.

According to Foreign Office spokesman Nafees Zakaria, Sharif thanked Modi for extending best wishes to him, , Samaa reported

The telephonic contact comes two days after the Indian prime minister wished speedy recovery of his Pakistani counterpart on Twitter.

“My best wishes to PM Nawaz Sharif Sahab for his open heart surgery on Tuesday. And for his speedy recovery & good health,” Modi tweeted.

A number of world leaders had wished the prime minister health and a quick recovery.
