Ramadan 2016: Shahabuddin Popalzai ready to cooperate

PESHAWAR: Khateeb (the top cleric) of Masjid al Qasim, Maulana Shahabuddin Popalzai has stated that he is agree to cooperate with federal government in moon sighting this year, TheNewsTibe.com learnt from local media reports.

The statement came after KPK parliament unanimously signed a resolution last week which urged government to make sure that KP province must observe first Ramadan and Eid al Fitr in line with rest of the Pakistan and that government should ban non-government moon sighting committee.

Responding to the bill,  federal minster for Religious Affairs Srdar Yousuf had reportedly contacted Maluna Popalzai ans asked his cooperation to form a central body for Ramadan and Eid moon sighting.

In response to government’s approach, Maulana Shahab vowed to cooperate with government adding that “We respect the government and will extend our full cooperation with the committee.”
