PCB Chief Shahryar Khan might resign after Eid

LAHORE: The dust had hardly settled after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appointed Chief Selector and head coach for Pakistan team, the issue of high-level changes in PCB has once again taken a surge.

According to a leading local TV channel, there are fair chances that PCB hierarchy will be removed from their posts after Eid al Fitr.

The TV reported via its sources that chairman PCB Shahryar Khan would resign from his post due to increasing burden and stated without mentioning the name that a ‘heavy weight’ will be given this post.

The rumours of sacking Shahryar Khan and Najam Sethi were making rounds in month of March as well, but both managed to rescue their seats after reportedly political settlement.

However, experts believe that the ‘heavy weight’ is most likely to be Asian Bradman Zaheer Abbas who is currently serving as International Cricket Council (ICC) President.

He will be relieved from his post in June, and may join as PCB head in second week of July, after Eid al Fitr.
