Election commission issues notice to Captain Safdar

LAHORE: Election Commission of Punjab Monday issued notice to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PMLN) leader captain Safdar.

The notice summoned captain Safdar before commission on June first.

Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf’s (PTI) leader Nawbzada Salahuddin had filed a petition with ECP claiming that captain Safdar did not declare all his assets and also misguided the commission about his wife Maryam Nawaz’s assets.

The petitioner appealed to the ECP to disqualify Safdar and launch a criminal proceeding against him for ‘lying’ and ‘concealing’ his assets.

It is pertinent to mention here that Maryam Nawaz had been denying any offshore or undisclosed asset, has been exposed to be owner of two offshore companies.
