Umar Akmal completes 4000 runs in T20s

CHELMSFORD:  Swashbuckling middle order batsman Umar Akmal has become only fourth Pakistani to reach 4000 runs mark in professional Twenty20 cricket.

Playing from Leicester Shire in English NatWest t20 Blast Umar Akmal played a blistering inning of 52 runs off just 32 balls; his hard-earned fifty could not save the match for his team, but took him across 4,000 runs hallmark in T20 professional cricket.

Before him, Shoaib Malik (5995), Mohammad Hafeez (4210) and Azhar Mehmood (4088) have reached to this milestone.

25-year old flame-boy has so far scored 4008 runs in his Twenty20 professional career of 178 matches with the strike rate of 130.1, at an average of 30.82. He has scored 25 fifties so far.

It is pertinent to mention here that, Umar Akmal is not included in those 35 players who are currently training in Abbottabad for England tour.
