WASHINGTON: A top United States military commander has called on the US to combat North Korea before it has the chance to obliterate America, British and American media reported on Wednesday.
Admiral Harry Harris said an alliance between the US, South Korea and Japan must be formed to stop Pyongyang’s devastating plans.
Harris revealed the three countries are planning a major missile defence exercise to combat the dictator’s aggressive nuclear and missile testing program.
The Admiral also claimed North Korea is “on a quest for nuclear weapons” as he claimed the war-crazed nation is the most dangerous threat to America.
“He recently threatened pre-emptive nuclear strikes against the United States and other countries in the region,” he added “folks, make no mistake about it. North Korea is on a quest for nuclear weapons, the means to miniaturise them and the ways to deliver them intercontinentally.
“Working trilaterally, I believe we can bolster our collective defence against North Korean provocations.”
The hermit kingdom has recently committed to boosting its nuke program “in quality and quantity”.
Pyongyang overlord Kim made the announcement last week at the Workers party congress.
Kim said: “As a responsible nuclear weapons state, our Republic will not use a nuclear weapon unless its sovereignty is encroached upon by any aggressive hostile forces with nukes.
