I was an easy target for abductors: Ali Gilani

MULTAN: Ali Haidr Gilani, son of former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, who was freed from Taliban captivity in Afghanistan during a targeted operation by US forces, says he was an easy target for kidnappers.

Talking to media in Multan, Ali Haider Gilani who revealed that kidnappers had already tried to kidnap Abdul Qadir Gilani and Musa Gilani but failed due to tight security, reported Dunya News on Wednesday.

He said that he was kept in Faisalabad for 2.5 months after which Al-Qaeda handed him over to 4 different groups on guardianship basis. He also added that he had been shifted to Afghanistan from Waziristan after Mumtaz Qadri’s hanging.

Gilani revealed that Taliban felt immense pain, wept and expressed grief over Army Public School (APS) attack in Peshawar.

Speaking about his recovery, Ali Haider stated that 2 American gunship helicopters operated, killed 2 people and retrieved him, he added.
