Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis hospitalized, gig cancelled

CALIFORNIA: Red Hot Chili Peppers were forced to cancel their ROQ Weenie Roast performance   in Irvine, California, at eleventh hour as their lead singer Anthony Kiedis was hospitalizedfrom complications from the intestinal flu on  Saturday evening, Rollingstone.com reported.

Kiedis was at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre when he began experiencing “extreme stomach pain,” and was shifted to a nearby hospital on immediate basis.

“Due to Anthony Kiedis’ hospitalization from complications from the intestinal flu on  Saturday evening, the Red Hot Chili Peppers regretfully must postpone their upcoming concert for iHeart Radio on May 17th.

“They would like to extend their gratitude to the fans for the outpouring of well wishes.  Anthony is expected to make a full recovery soon,” the band’s website redhotchilipeppers.com reported.

Band’s drummer Chad Smith expressed his distress via Twitter and said “NO one’s more disappointed than us that we couldn’t perform tonight. Sending love and a speedy recovery to my brother Anthony.”

Any rescheduling of the concert has not been announced yet!
