LONDON: The match between Manchester United and Bournemouth which was supposed to take place today at Old Trafford, has been cancelled due to the discovery of a suspect package in the stadium.
The suspect package was found in the NW Quadrant of the ground that cause havoc in the stadium.
An announcement was made at around 2.40 pm for security personnel to invoke “operation red code” and it soon became evident fans were leaving the South Stand and Stretford End, Breaking News reported.
The North Stand and the East Stand, where the Bournemouth supporters were seated, did not appear to be affected.
Police currently reached on the scene and sniffer dogs have been brought in to search the empty stands.
