LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting, here today. Progress of steps taken for provision of quality treatment facilities to the people was reviewed in the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif said that improving healthcare facilities is included in priorities of Punjab government and it has given the biggest budget in the history of the province for improving public health facilities.
He said that service to the ailing humanity is also a form of worship.
Shehbaz Sharif said that work will have to be done with hard work, determination and passion for providing quality medical facilities to the patients in government hospitals.
He said that results of the steps taken for improvement of health sector should reach the masses at every cost.
The Chief Minister directed to ensure provision and availability of free medicines to the patients and pay special attention to improve healthcare facilities in far-flung areas. Cleanliness arrangements in the hospitals should be improved, he added.
Secretary Specialized Health & Medical Education gave a detailed briefing regarding provision of quality health facilities to the people.
Advisor Health Khawaja Salman Rafique, Parliamentary Secretary Health Khawaja Imran Nazir, Chairman Planning & Development and Secretary Primary & Secondary Health attended the meeting.
