LAHORE: The International Cricket Council (ICC) President Zaheer Abbas called on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif as both exchanged views over construction and promotion of cricket grounds in the meeting.
During the meeting, CM Punjab said that Cricket was the popular game of Pakistan, whereas there is immense talent of cricket in Pakistan and in order to utilize this talent coordinated measures have to be taken.
Shahbaz highlighted that Punjab government has started the work on programme and currently eight cricket grounds are in process of construction initially. In next phases of this project, a ground will be built in every district.
He further maintained that Pakistani cricketers have brought honour to the country at international level on several occasions adding that every possible facility would be provided for promotion of games including cricket in future.
Zaheer Abbas termed it a ‘welcome move’ by CM Punjab to build the cricket grounds and stated that new talent will emerge due to this step taken by the Punjab government.
