NEW DELHI: Sting operation by an Indian TV channel has allegedly confirmed that the Indian underworld don, Dawood Ibrahim is present in Pakistan and residing in Karachi.
It is pertinent to mention here that such claims have been made many times but Pakistan has not found any evidence supporting these claims.
According to the details, Dawood Ibrahim is reportedly living in Karachi’s posh Clifton area. A video has been released in the regard in which address of Dawood’s residence has been claimed as D 13, Block 4, Clifton, Karachi. Same address has been shared by India with Pakistani authorities on several occasions.
The channel supported the claims through the interviews of guards and locals, and has also stated that everyone in the vicinity knew about Dawood’s presence.  In the meanwhile government of India has proclaimed to pursue the case regarding Pakistan to hand over Dawood who is the alleged mastermind of the 1993 Mumbai blasts.
“The news reports referred only corroborates the facts that were already available with us. We will continue to pursue this matter and we expect Pakistan to hand over this international terrorist to us,” Ministry of External Affairs, MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup told reporters at a media briefing.
The sting operation shows Dawood’s house flanked by a cricket stadium on one side and the Clifton Marquee, a popular wedding and banquet hall on the other. The compound has three-metre high walls, barricades leading up to the entrance and private security guards manning it 24×7. It claimed that Dawood’s presence there was confirmed by locals.
Dawood is wanted in India for the past 23 years which has always claimed his presence in Pakistan. Pakistan has persistently refuted such claims.
