PCB orders enquiry into Sharjeel Khan’s matter

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has ordered its Security Vigilance and Anti Corruption unit to look into Sharjeel Khan’s matter and submit a report within three days.

Reacting to the viral video of Sharjeel Khan in which he claimed of being threatened by blackmailers, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesperson stated that anti-corruption unit has been directed to probe the matter.

Sharjeel Khan took Twitter to post a video on Thursday noon, stating that he has been receiving spam calls from unknown numbers, receiving threats to use his fake videos to defame him and asking for money in return.

“Hello there, I am sharing a thing you guys today, I’ve been receiving threat calls from unknown numbers for quite a few days, demanding money from me. They say they have made my fake videos, which they are going to upload on social media and will defame me and put my career on stake if I did not pay the demanded money. I thought I should bring this into your knowledge that all such videos are fake. There is no such thing. They are just trying to malign my name.” stated Sharjeel in his video.

Sharjeel Khan was recently included in World T20 squad after his solid performances in the inauguraledition of the inaugural edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

He has played 11 ODIs (194 runs) and 11 T20Is (266 runs).
