LAHORE: Ali Haider Gilani, the son of former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani reached home amid chants and cheers after being recovered from Afghanistan’s Ghazni province in a joint operation carried out by Afghan and US forces against an Al Qaeda affiliated group.
Moments after reaching home and reuniting with family, Ali Haider took his official twitter account to thank people of Pakistan for praying for him.

Earlier, Ali Haider thanked Afghan government, and US forces for freeing him from terrorists and keeping a good care of him.
The Afghan defense minister handed over Ali Haider to the Pakistan ambassador in Kabul Abrar Hussain at 10 am, the Pakistan foreign office said. They were taken to the Airport by a helicopter for onward travel to Lahore.
