Aftab Ahmed’s death, 4 Rangers personnel arrested

KARACHI: As many as four Rangers’ personnel related to Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) worker Aftab Ahmed’s death, have been taken into custody, said Rangers sources Tuesday.

Aftab Ahmed died last week in Rangers custody.

DG Rangers say, personnel were taken into custody after initial investigation and canbeĀ remanded, if needed be.

According to Rangers’ early statement, he died of heart attack, but post-mortem reports and leaked photographs of his dead body proved that he was brutally tortured.

Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif had ordered judicial inquiry into the matter on MQM”s demand.
