MUMBAI: King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan’s most awaited movie Raees will not be released in order to avert a possible clash with Salman Khan’s eagerly-awaited Sultan.
According to a Pinkvilla reports, the makers of Raees have taken a ‘difficult decision’ to postpon its release. The film will now hit screens next year in January.
“It was not an easy decision to move the film. We understand that our movie is highly anticipated. However, a film of such magnitude requires appropriate showcasing. Therefore, we have decided to shift our release date” said producer Ritesh Sidhwani.
This effectively means that Sultan will be a solo release. As such, it is bound to enjoy a massive opening at the ticket window.
On a related note, Raees is touted to be a crime-drama and features SRK in the role of a fierce bootlegger. As far as Sultan is concerned, it is sports-drama and revolves around the exploits of a wrestler.
