LAHORE: Newly appointed Chief Selector Inzimam ul Haq has announced 35 initial names for the fitness camp in Abbottabad before England tour, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
Inzimam, while addressing to a presser in Lahore, announced that discipline and fitness will be criteria of selection for upcoming England tour.
Ahmed Shehzad, Umar Akmal and Shahid Afridi’s name is not included in early names.
in response to a question, Inzimam responded that “Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal neither have performance nor fitness.”
While commenting over Shahid Afridi’s exclusion, chief selector stated that Pakistan have only four T20 matches in next one and a half year span, we therefore decided to give Afridi some rest, he will be back in the team with his better performance.”
The fitness test will be held from 8-12 May 2016 at National Cricket Academy in Lahore before the training camp which will take place at Kakul in Abbottabad from May 14 to June 4, 2016.
