FAISALABAD: Courtesy to Ahmed Shehzad’s brilliant performance with bat then smart captaincy in the filed helps Boomb Boomb Buble Gum Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) to win the game by 7 runs against Invertex Sindh and qualify for Pakistan Cup 2016 tournament at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad.
After winning the toss, KPK captain Ahmed Shehzad opted to bat first and added 176 runs for the first wicket partnership with Fakhar Zaman.
Zaman was first to depart for his 68 on the total of 176, but Shehzad went on to complete his magnificent hundred. He scored 143 off 135 balls.
He added 76 runs for the second wicket along with Zohaib Khan (27), who was promoted up the order.
The middle order capitalised the start given by top order, with Bismillah Khan (25), and then little cameo from Adil Amin (20 off 10) and Fahim Ashraf (20 off 11) ended their innings on 219/6.
Roman Raees, Bilal Asif and Mohamamd Amir bagged 2 wickets each.
Sindh in reply lost the momentum early on, losing three quick wickets for just 22 runs on the board. Khalid Latif (168*) and Fawad Alam (74) added 164 runs for the fourth wicket partnership bringing back theri team on track.
After losing Fawad on 186, Sarfraz was next to depart for Sindh with the difference of just 8 runs.
KPK were all over the game but Khalifd Latif fought till the last balls, though  could not win it, but took his team from 22/ to 312/8 in 50 over, falling short of just 7 run from the victory stand.
Khalid Latif and Ahmed Shehzad were picked joint Man of The Match.
