MUMBAI: Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Mumbai Indians in the 24th IPL 2016 match at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
KKR are on a roll with four successive victories in five games. Interestingly, their lone defeat of the season, by six wickets, had come at the Eden Gardens against the Rohit Sharma-inspired MI on April 13. Captain Sharma blasted a match-winning 54-ball 84 not out to lead MI to victory in the first leg clash and KKR would be eager to set the record straight and stay at the top of the pecking order.
KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir has been in exceptional form this season and held the Orange Cap for quite some time. The left-handed batsman has scored 237 runs from 5 innings at an impressive average of 79. His opening partner, Robin Uthappa, has also looked in good touch with 134 runs in 5 games.

However, MI might ponder making a change to one of their overseas players slot, with Kieron Pollard yet to really make a mark in this tournament. Pollard’s bowling has become quite ineffective, while his batting remains way too inconsistent, which in turn puts added pressure on the batting and bowling lineups.
Giving Corey Anderson his first game of IPL 2016 might not be a bad idea, or maybe a Guptill can come in with Rohit dropping down to bolster the middle order. Anderson for Pollard seems to make the most sense.
Jerome Taylor has been called in as the replacement for Lasith Malinga, but with someone like Marchant de Lange yet to get an opportunity, it is unlikely that Taylor will play anytime soon.
