PESHAWAR- Women of Pakistan are breaking the stereotypes and making the society fluid rather than keeping it stagnant and are accomplishing in every genre of life. Here is another example in this regard. In a city like Peshawar, there is a dhaba opened by a woman.
This is the ‘dhaba’ style open-air small café located among shopping malls and cafes owned and run by male owners in the University Town. This dhaba really stands out among its neighbors because of its vibrant truck art exhibited on the exterior plus the scrumptious naan and karak chai.
Furthermore hygienic quality is exemplary here. Food is provided disposable utensils and Laila, the owner and cook herself makes it sure that all SOPs of cleanliness are followed.
Laila imorovises and self-invents the recipes for these scrumptious naans.
Cooking is my passion and I thought why not open up a café and let people enjoy my recipes especially the ones whom village-folk and young would love alike,” she says.
She also exclaims, “My brother said it won’t run, but I have proved him wrong so far. Girls and families are coming.”
Laila is a single parent and deems it important for women to follow their passion and become financially independent just like her.
