National Book Day: Celebrations start from 22nd April to 24th April

ISLAMABAD- National Book Foundation formally launches Pakistan’s 7th National Book Day festival in the Pak-China Friendship Center.

This festival will go on for three days. During the three-day activities well-known intellectual and literary personalities, Book Ambassadors, Book-lovers, educationists, writers, poets, famous artists, students of educational institutions, including book readers and people from all walks of life in large number are anticipated to take part in this Mela.

China, Pakistan’s all time friend has been announced as Guest of Honor Country.  A large number of books on a variety of subjects will be put on display at various stalls during the National Book Day’s activities. Upon NBF’s request the publishers and book stall holders have announced up to 50pc discount on various books.

Pakistan Post has issued NBF memorable ticket on the National Book Day and they are released today. During three days in this “Kitab Mela”, more than 160 book-stalls of books-seller and publishers will be set up where variety of books available at handsome discounted rates, at most 55 percent.

The stalls of different universities and educational institutions will also be there. The conferences of Book- Ambassadors and publishers will also be held to exchange views and make up strategies for solving their common problems of book industry.

In the “Vice Chancellors’ Conference” the think-tank of education sector will talk about how to promote book culture and book reading among people. Renowned writers and intellectuals of Urdu and English Languages will take part in the segment of “Book reading.”

The theme of the Mela is ‘Kitab say hai Zindagi’.
