Karachi firing, a move against Polio drive?

KARACHI: The heart wrenching incident of firing on police party in Karachi which took seven policemen’s live seems an attack on law enforcers, but does it has any connection with anti-polio movement?

The policemen were guarding polio teams in the restive locality of Karachi where several polio teams have been attacked in the past.

“Eight terrorists riding four motorcycles opened fire on two police teams. One of our injured policemen retaliated,” DIG West Feroz Shah told media.

Resultantly, the 4-day polio drive has been postponed in West zone of Karachi. Senior officials resent non provision of bullet proof jackets to police personnel.

Interior minister Sindh Suhail Anwer Siyal condmened the attack and said that the culprtis will soon be brought to justice. He also told media that anti-polio campaign deferred in the area after the attack on police mobile.
