LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not included former Twenty20 captain Shahid Khan Afridi’s name in the initial players draft announced for Pakistan Cup One Day cricket tournament.
PCB on Monday issued 75 names including all the categories for Pakistan Cup starting from April 19.
Surprisingly, spot fixing scandal hit left arm batsman and former Test captain Salman Butt and right arm swing bowler Mohammad Asif’s names have also been added to the draft.
Pakistan Cup will include teams from the country’s four provinces and a Federal Capital side, PCB announced on Monday.
Sarfraz Ahmed, Shoaib Malik, Younis Khan, Azhar Ali and Misbah-Ul-Haq will lead the sides from Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Federal Capital respectively.
The teams will be selected by the captain and the coach through a draft which will consist of 150 players.
Each team will be able to select a squad of 15.
The draft process was also adopted during the teams’ selection for the Pakistan Super League which was held earlier this year.
