ISLAMABAD: Interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali khan has said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his meeting with Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, and that was not “secret.”
“We hold frequent meetings with the army chief regarding national action plan and other security issues. It wasn’t a secret meeting at all as we met the army chief during daytime at 3pm,” he said.
The interior minister, however, did not reveal the content of the meeting.
The Interior Minister said that former President Pervez Musharraf was placed on exit control list on the order of special court.
“We have now removed Musharraf’s name from the ECL on Supreme Court’s order,” he said.
The government, he said, had rejected three applications of Musharraf to go abroad.
On the issue of Musharraf, he said that the PPP government did nothing for five years and some of its leaders were now giving lectures.
“Musharraf was also an accused in Benazir Bhutto murder case. Why was his name not put on the ECL by the PPP government?” he questioned.
