March 2016 can be termed as the March of disasters as several events marked the month. This month demonstrated our society’s collective behavior as well. Let’s have a look at these events respectively,
Heavy Rains
A lot of devastation was seen due to heavy rains. The rains took a toll on more than hundred lives. Not only in Pakistan, but issues were faced by the whole world due to these rains.
Asia Cup 2016
Our cricket team shown a dismal performance in the Asia Cup. It was termed the worst performance of Pakistan’s Cricket team and huge resentment was expressed by Pakistanis. Pakistan only managed to score 12 out of 13 times it was restricted under 130 runs when playing the first innings in a T20.
World Cup 2016
World Cup was even more disastrous in regards with Pakistani cricket team. They upheld the tradition of losing to India, lost to Australia and landed in home land after that.
RAW Agent caught from Baluchistan
An Indian Navy Official, who was a RAW agent had been caught working in Baluchistan. The agent identified several other agents working under cover and also confessed to support the insurgents in Baluchistan.
Lahore Blast
This was the most tormenting incident of March which left a scar on the heart of Pakistan. More than 60 people died and hundreds were injured. Majorly women and children were the victims and it shook the whole world.
D-Chowk sit-in
A mob of 1000s of people, manly supporters of Mumtaz Qadri swarmed to the red zone and pushed forward their demands in front of the government. The angry mob inflicted severe damage to the public property including Metro stations which forced the administration to close stations. Mobile services remained closed during these days and the economy had to bear great loss due to this.
