JIT will investigate Lahore blast

ISLAMABAD: Government of Pakistan formulated a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate the Lahore blast’s cause, suicide bomber and other details of the event.

Police and Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah accepted that there were security loop holes and major discrepancies in initial investigation surfaced yesterday. JIT will include 2 members of Pakistani security agencies.

Punjab Police initially nominated a teacher Muhammad Yusuf as the suicide bomber, his dead body and National Identity Card were found from the location. His dead body was 70% burnt. Yusuf’s family was also arrested and his belongings were confiscated.

Police retracted their statement next day and issues a new sketch and a hunt for identification or relevant information began. On Monday night the sketch was identified as Salahuddin Khurasani by the banned outfit Jamat ul Ahraar.

On Monday night Yusuf’s friend also came forward to explain that Yusuf and his friend Bilaal were with injured Yaqoob at the park. They are both teachers at a madarrasa and regular at the park. He informed that Bilaal and Yusuf died in the blast.
