Is Aafia dead or alive? Family demands clarification

ISLAMABAD: Reports of Dr Aafia Siddiqui’s death have been circulating social media creating an unrest in Pakistan. The news have been reported from different unconfirmed sources.

The News Tribe.com representative approached imprisoned Dr Aafia Siddiqui’s family in Pakistan and they are unaware of her where-abouts.  Not only that they have not spoken to Aafia Siddiqui in a long while they are also unaware of circulating stories claiming her death.

On the other hand, President of Human Rights Network Intekhab Alam Suri stated that, “reports claiming that Dr. Aafia Siddiqui is dead are completely false and fabricated.”  Suri also demanded that Government of Pakistan must fullfil the promise made to the nation and take practical steps for her release.

Dr. Afia Siddiqui was accused of assistance in terrorism and subjected to worst torture in U.S custody despite the fact that she was not convicted of any charges until that point.

Later on, due to international criticism on the issue they indicted Dr. Aafia Siddiqui without proper prosecution and she is currently impassioned in United States.
