Barack Obama, the US president is going to wave good bye soon. His tenure can be marked by several accomplishments as well as failures. But let’s have a look at his other side, the ordinary, other than the president side. Here are a few facts regarding Obama,

Barack Obama was born on August 4, 1961 at the Kapi’olani Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. In Swahili, his name “Barack” means “one who is blessed.” He was the first President to be born in the State of Hawaii.

Obama spent his youth outside United States which triggered his opponents to speculate that he was not a national of US especially this issue got heat during Obama’s presidential campaign. This speculation was bolstered because of the fact that he born in Kenya.

He was known as ‘O’ Bomber’ at high school because of his extraordinary skill at basketball.

He is leftie i.e. left handed and has read every Harry Potter book. He also owns a set of red boxing gloves autographed by Muhammad Ali.

He worked in a Baskin-Robbins ice cream shop as a teenager and now can’t stand ice cream. His favorite snacks are chocolate-peanut protein bars. He had had the ‘pleasure’ of eating dog meat, snake meat, and roasted grasshopper while living in Indonesia
