Mohammad Hafeez unlikely for Australia game

MOHALI: Pakistan opening batsman Mohammad Hafeez who was injured before New Zealand game, is also doubtful for the match against Australia on March 25, TheNewsTribe.com reported. 

According to latest reports from Pakistan camp, Mohammad Hafeez has far failed to recover from the injury and did not attend today’s optional practice session.

Hafeez’s injury came to light in Kolkata a couple of days ago, according to Pakistan team’s physician Dr. Saleem.

“The senior batsman complained of pain in the right knee a couple of days ago. He was administered physio treatment several times but the pain didn’t subside. On examination he was suspected to be having a strain of one of ligament in his right knee.

“He was sent for an MRI immediately after arrival in Mohali from Kolkatta. The MRI report received today revealed bone contusion/edema in the inter-condylar region of the femur. There was also minimal amount of fluid in the knee joint.
