MQM suspends “Clean Karachi Campaign” today

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) suspended the “Clean Karachi Campaign” for indefinite time period, TheNewsTribe.com reported. 

The decision was taken during an emergency meeting called by the Rabita Committee. According to the issued statement the campaign is being suspended in light of the arrests of its workers.

Earlier, MQM started the CKC from Line Area of Karachi on March 10, where government machinery was also used during campaign.

MQM workers took part in the campaign and senior leaders of MQM were also present at different sites along with party workers.

MQM’s nominated mayor of Karachi, Wasim Akhtar also monitored the cleanliness campaign in the city. Senior leader of MQM invited Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Jammiat Ulam e Islam, Awami National Party and other political parties to clean Karachi.
