Adult coloring fever results in global pencil shortage

LONDON- There has been a sudden rise seen in the demand of pencils as the number of people buying adult coloring books has gone manifold. This fever has resulted in global pencil shortage.

The increased number of buyers if adult coloring books has endangered the pencil stocks as world-wide manufacturers grapple to cope with the increased demand of crayons.

The world’s biggest wooden pencil manufacturer, Faber-Castell, say they are experiencing “double-digit growth” in the sale of artists’ pencils and have been forced to run more shifts in their German factory to keep up.

“Currently, we are running more shifts than usual in our factory in Stein, Bavaria in order to satisfy the global needs for artist’s pencils related to the coloring trend for adults.

The trend is continuing to this day and can be felt globally – from South America to Asia.”

Brazil has reported pencil shortages after many Brazilians jumped onto the coloring book bandwagon.
