KOLKATA: Pakistani batsmen showed maturity and put Bangladeshi bowlers on back foot in their opening match of International Cricket Council (ICC) Twenty20 Cricket World Cup 2016, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
Left-handed batsman Sharjeel Khan opened the innings with Ahmed Shehzad and slapped couple of sixes and four to Bangladeshi bowlers.
But once again he failed to play big inning and lost his wicket after scoring 18 runs. Mohammad Hafeez joined Ahmed Shehzad and hit a six on very second ball of his inning.
Shehzad and Hafeez played some beautiful shorts and put 50 runs in just 5.3 overs and laid a base for Green Shirts to set mammoth total.
Pakistan team managed to put 99 runs on scoreboard. Hafeez scored 40 and Shehzad managed to to score 39 runs so far.
