Showbiz celebrities defend Shahid Afridi’s “More Love” statement

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani media slammed t20 skipper Shahid Afridi over his statement that he received more love in India than Pakistan but now after head coach of national team, showbiz personalities jumped into support of Shahid Afridi, TheNewsTribe.com reported.  

According to details, famous Pakistani actress Irtiza Rubab, who is known as Meera in showbiz industry, said that Pakistanis should support cricket team in T20 Cricket World Cup.

She said that Shahid Afridi just want to attract the cricket lovers in India and want their support. Meera also requested Pakistani cricketers to watch her film.

Pakistani-Bollywood actor Fawad Khan told he witnessed that Indian always gave Afridi so much respect and love. “Once I traveled with Shahid Afridi and watch how much Indians love Shahid Afridi,” he said.

Pakistani media opened the guns of criticism towards a man who won highest numbers of Man of the Match awards for Pakistan, hit highest sixes in cricket history, Shahid Afridi after his statement.

Earlier, Head coach of Pakistan cricket team Waqar Younis, came in support of T20 skipper Shahid Afridi and defend the statement given by Shahid Afridi.

While addressing press conference in Kolkata, Head coach of Pakistan cricket team said their is nothing controversial in Afridi’s statement.

Waqar Younis claimed that Indians loves cricket and give respect to cricket players. While talking about Pakistan-Bangladesh match, he said that Bangladesh team is performing well and Pakistani team needs to perform well to grab win in the first group match of International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket World Cup 2016.
