ISLAMABAD: Pakistan cricket team will leave for India to take part in International Cricket Council (ICC) Twenty20 Cricket World Cup 2016, TheNewsTribe.com learnt from media reports.

Without security assurance, Pakistan won’t visit India: Nisar

According to latest schedule, Pakistan will play three matches at Eden Garden cricket ground KolKata as venue of Pakistan-India match was shifted from Dharamshala due to security concerns.

Cricket pundits claimed that in past, Pakistan cricket team performed much better at Eden Garden than Dharamshala.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief also welcomed BCCI and The International Cricket Council  (ICC’s) move to shift the venue for Pakistan-India WT20 match and said that this move will ease our worries to some extent.

The rivals were scheduled to play in Dharamsala on 19 March, but there has been local opposition to the match.

Pakistan were due to fly to India on Wednesday but security concerns delayed the departure of Pakistan cricket team to India.

Now, ICC on PCB’s demand has confirmed Kolkata (Calcutta) as an alternative venue.

(ICC) confirmed it had received the request from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), but spokesman Sami Ul Hasan told the BBC a decision on any venue change had yet to be made.

A Pakistani security assessment team were sent to India on Tuesday and have submitted a report to the interior ministry which will take a final decision on whether the national team goes to India or not, a PCB official told the BBC.
