MIRPUR: Indian cricket team won the Asia Cup title for the sixth time in cricket history as India beat Bangladesh in the final by eight wickets at Sher e Bangla Stadium, Dhaka, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
Due to rain, the final of the first T20 Asia Cup was restricted to 15-over game. Skipper Indian cricket team MS Dhoni won the and elected to bowl first.
Bangladesh cricket team managed to set target of 121 runs and Indian strong batting side chased the target as a piece of cake.
Dhawan 60-runs inning made one sided game. He hit nine fours and a six. Indian team chased the target with 7 ball remaining.
“Thanks to the top-order batsmen, they have done the bulk of the job,” Dhoni said after the match.
“We are on track for the World T20,” he added, referring to the Twenty20 World Cup beginning in India next week.
