LAHORE: Famous sports journalist Shahid Hashmi has claimed that Khurram Manzoor was included in Asia Cup T20 side on political influence.
Hashmi made this sensational revelation on a local TV show, and said that Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi received a call from a famous political leader who is in self-imposed exile, and was urged to include Khurram Manzoor in T20 side.
Afridi was ‘requested’ to give Manzoor a proper chance so that this can be decided if he is or not a T20 player.
Hashmi went on to say that “Khurram Manzoor has made 300 runs in domestic T20 league but, due to his faulty technique, he can’t play this format, he wasn’t even considered for PSL from any frnachise this season.”
Hashmi further said that Iftikhar Ahmed and Khalid Latif, who have better record than Manzoor should have been given more chances.
