LAHORE: Left-handed batsman Salman Butt will likely to be part of Pakistan cricket team in upcoming mega event of International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 Cricket World Cup 2016.

According to media reports, officials of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will hold a meeting and will take important decision regarding Pakistani squad.
Salman Butt and Ahmed Shahzad will be selected as openers for T20 world cup. Shahid Afridi’s captaincy will also part of agenda in meeting.
Earlier, Chairman PCB Sheharyar Khan has hinted that PCB is pondering over termination of Twenty20 skipper Shahid Khan Afridi.
While talking to media on Thursday, PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan stated that he is seeking ‘expert advice’ on this decision.
“I’m going to consult with Younis Khan & Misbah whether Afridi needs to be removed now as captain or at a later stage” told media.
However, during the same briefing, some 10 minutes later, PCB chief had altered his words and said “Shahid Afridi will remain captain for the World T20 unless he himself declines to lead the team.”
Mr Khan also hinted that he has some kind of commitment with Afridi on captaincy issue by saying “Shahid Afridi is Pathan and I am also Pathan and we know that a Pathan’s word is their bond.”
