DHAKA: Bangladesh, after a nail-biting thriller have beaten Pakistan by 5 wickets to qualify for the final of Asia cup Twenty20, at Sher e Bangla Cricket Stadium, Dhaka.
Pakistan T20 skipper, Shahid Khan Afridi chose to bat first after winning the toss, but the top order collapsed badly once again, loosing three wicket on just 128 runs in 6th over.
Mohammad hafeez (2), Khurram Manzoor (1) and Sharjeel Khan (10) were the early wickets to fall.
Sarfraz Ahmed was interestingly promoted up the order, over malik. He tried to built a partnership with Umar Akmal again but, he too lofted a short to deep extra cover, trying to taker some risk. He left for just 4 on the board.
In came most experienced batsman Shoaib Malik, he along with Sarfraz put up a valuable 60 runs partnership, before Malik went out for his 41, giving lower middle order to take their chances in last overs.
But, Pakistan’s chances dropped further as skipper Afridi departed for naught once again. leaving Pakistan 102/6 in 18th over.
Sarfraz (58*) kept scoring run from one end and from 28/4 in 9th over, he brought Pakistan to a fighting total of 129/7 in 20 overs.
Bangladesh in reply won the game by 5 wicket with 5 balls to spare, thanks to Muhammadullah’s fire power.
