Leonardo and Oscar: Story of hide and seek

Leonardo DiCaprio has finally won the Oscar. But it is not that simple as it has been a long journey. After several memes on social media he finally made it.

Here is an account regarding the game of hide and seek between the actor and Oscar which has been frustratingly long.

Before that we will see what other awards he made to. He has won three Golden Globe Awards. He won the first one in 2005 for ‘The Aviator’. The second Gold Globe went to him for ‘Wolf of the Wall Street’ in 2014 and the third one was for ‘The Revenant’ in 2016.

He has also won BAFTA for ‘The Revenant’ in 2016.

He has also won SAG award.

But never an Oscar.

His first nomination was in 1993, as Best Supporting Actor for “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape’, which he lost to Tommy Lee Jones for ‘The Fugitive’.

He was nominated for Best Actor in 205 for ‘The Aviator’. And lost it to Jamie Foxx for ‘Ray’.

In 2007, he was nominated for Blood Diamond and again lost it to the Forest Whitaker for ‘The Last King of Scotland.

Even two years ago, he was again nominated for ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ but then lost it to Matthew McConaughey for ‘Dallas Buyers Club’.

So, this is his fifth nomination and first ever triumph in regards with Oscars.

Congratulations Leonardo !!
