Pakistani Actor Imran Abbas becomes latest victim of death hoax

ISLAMABAD: “Talented Pakistani actor and former model Imran Abbas is no more with us,” this information now turned into a rumor knocked on the screens of many internet users in Pakistan on Sunday.


There is no doubt that it’s always shocking to hear when a celebrity has passed away — especially for the celeb in question, who’s still alive.

The latest “victim” of this is Pakistan Drama, Film and Bollywood Actor Imran Abbas, social media reports of his death turned out to be greatly exaggerated on Sunday.

Imran Abbas Naqvi death news turned into an internet generated hoax but the most interesting thing in this development was patronage of social media.

Usually any blog or a known person trigger the hoax somewhere on internet, which later appears among the hot discussions.

According to the initial investigation of the development, this time random users did this, which generated search-engine queries on different sites and blogs including questions on social networking sites.

It is worth mentioning here that Pakistani actor is not the first and last of celebrity death hoax victim, many international stars faced their death news while they are alive.

Robert Redford, Carlos Santana, Paul McCartney, Jackie Chan among stars social media wrongfully declared dead.

Despite all the rumors circulating on digital sphere of Pakistan, it is confirmed and clear that the actor and model is alive and busy in his routine activities.

Imran Abbas is known for his leading roles in television serials including Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan (2011), Khuda Aur Muhabbat (2011), Mera Naseeb (2011), Piya Kay Ghar Jana Hai (2012), Dil-e-Muztar (2013), Shadi Aur Tum Say? (2013), Alvida (2015), and Mera Naam Yusuf Hai (2015).

Former Pakistani model Imran Abbas made his film debut with a leading role in the 2013 romantic drama Anjuman. The following year, he appeared in Bollywood’s monster horror film Creature 3D, which earned him Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut nomination.

Imran Abbas Naqvi, a graduate of National College of Arts Lahore, is also an Urdu Poet.
