Sarfraz Ahmed likely to replace Azhar Ali as ODI captain

LAHORE: After the brilliant performance in Pakistan Super League (PSL), Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) likely to appoint Sarfraz Ahmed as captain of One Dy International (ODI) Team, TheNewsTribe.com learnt from javedch.com.

According to report, Quetta Gladiators played the final of PSL under the captaincy of Sarfraz Ahmed and after this performance PCB likely to remove Azhar Ali as a captain of ODI team.

Azhar Ali lead lead the Lahore Qalandars in Pakistan’s premier t2o league but performance remain poor in whole tournament as a captain.

Reports also revealed that after the retirement of Shahid Afridi, Sarfraz will also lead the national t20 team after the T20 Cricket World Cup 2016.

It is important to mention here that , Afridi who has already retired from Test and One Day International (ODI) cricket is now reconsidering his decision to quit the shortest format of the game.

After the 2015 World Cup, Afridi had announced his intention to retire from international cricket following the World T20, but now it appears he has not made up his mind.

“I am saying there is a lot of pressure on me that I shouldn’t retire from T20. That I can play on, and as such there is no real talent coming through in Pakistan whose place I am taking.

“For a while now there is a lot of pressure from my family, a lot of pressure from my friends, including my elders, who say there is no need for me to retire from Twenty20. That is a huge pressure. For now, in truth, I am focusing only on the World Cup. That is a huge challenge for me.
