PCB calls Sami, Sharjeel & Khalid Latif in Asia Cup, WT20 squad

DUBAI: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday evening has announced changes in its Asia Cup Twenty20 and World Twenty20 squad, TheNewsTribe.com reported.

According to initial details, three Islamabad United players including right am fast bowler Mohammad Sami, left arm ton-up opener Sharjeel Khan and right-handed middle order batsman Khalid Latif have been re-called for Asia Cup and WT20 squad.

These players will replace out-of form Iftikhar Ahmed, injured Babar Azam and Rumman Raees.

Rumman got hamstring injury while Babar Azam is suffering from wrist injury, Mohammad Sami and Sharjeel Khan are likely to replace them in the squad.

Doctors have cleared that Rumman’s injury is not very serious and he can recover soon.

Sharjeel Khan scored a blistering century against Peshawar Zalmi last night in semi final of Pakistan Super League (PSL), he scored 117 runs off just 62 balls with the help of  12 boundaries and 8 massive sixes.

Mohammad Sami was impressive in PSL and is likely to replace injured Rumman in Pakistani squad.

Current Pakistani squad for mega events is as follow.

Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi, Umar Akmal, Sarfraz Ahmed, Immad Wasim, Anwer Ali,  Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Amir, Khalid Latif, Mohammad Irfan, Sharjeel Khan, Wahab Riaz, Khurram Manzoor, Sharjeel Khan.
